Gifts That Make a Difference
Like all independent schools, Episcopal Day School relies on annual giving to support the exceptional programs that make up an Episcopal Day education. Every year, we ask that all families in our community donate to the Mustang Fund. We aim to achieve 100% participation from our parents and guardians, trustees, and faculty and staff.
All gifts are vital to the advancement of our school and help to ensure the continued quality of education that has become the hallmark of an Episcopal Day education. Episcopal Day School of St Matthew is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with tax ID #94-3240988.
The Mustang Fund
The Mustang Fund is Episcopal Day School’s largest source of philanthropic revenue. As is true in every independent school, tuition does not cover the full cost of an Episcopal Day education. Annual gifts to the Mustang Fund provide support for our operating expenses and for extracurricular programs that enhance all of our students’ educational experiences.
THE IMPACT YOU MAKE
A gift to the Mustang Fund is the most important gift parents can make to the school. The Mustang Fund is essential to the continued excellence of an Episcopal Day School education and enriches it by providing support for:
-
faculty salaries and professional development that enable us to hire and retain the best teachers
-
a diverse collection of library books and tools for the Makers Lab
-
sports, music, and drama programs to engage all learners
-
tuition assistance which expands our community to include a diverse range of perspectives and experiences
-
field trips and experiential learning for all grades, from visits to the Pumpkin Patch in kindergarten to camping in Yosemite in seventh grade
-
the continuous maintenance and improvement of our facilities.

Episcopal Day on Ice brought our community together in downtown San Mateo’s Central Park for a festive tradition celebrating connection, joy, and the vibrant spirit of our city.
As an Episcopal school grounded in inclusion and inquiry, we intentionally celebrate and learn about holidays that our students celebrate, while also giving students the tools to understand different identities and cultures. We know that building a deep sense of belonging in community does not happen accidentally; it happens through purposeful education and celebration.
At Episcopal Day, we steadfastly believe that our math program should create thinkers, not calculators. It was our pleasure to share with our families some of the ways we bring that belief to life.
