A Quarter Century of Commitment: Celebrating Three Pillars of Episcopal Day School

At Episcopal Day School, we are privileged to have educators whose passion, commitment, and love for our community have shaped generations of students. This year, we joyfully celebrate three remarkable milestones from faculty members who have devoted 25+ years to enriching our school.

Mrs. King began her journey with us in 1999, originally volunteering while completing her psychology degree. What started as volunteer work soon blossomed into a lifelong career as our first teaching assistant and beloved PE teacher. For 26 years, she has been the heart and soul of our physical education program, teaching every grade, braving all weather, and now serving as Athletic Director. She continues to teach our youngest learners, finding joy in the connections that fuel her passion every day.

Ms. Robin Long joined EDS near the turn of the millennium as our very first Spanish teacher, helping broaden the language offerings and eventually becoming our full-time middle school visual arts teacher and homeroom advisor. Over 25 years, she has inspired creativity through painting, sculpture, ceramics, and more—connecting student art to meaningful themes and sharing their work far beyond our campus. Her classroom is a vibrant hub of color, imagination, and care, reflecting her deep dedication to both students and colleagues.

Mrs. Julie McMillan has been a steady, thoughtful presence in our middle school since 1998, teaching Language Arts and Social Studies while leading key programs and initiatives. A champion of student support, curriculum innovation, and community engagement, she has shaped everything from study halls to student services, helped launch school partnerships, and mentored countless teachers. Her 25 years of service embody compassion, wisdom, and leadership.

Together, these educators represent more than seven decades of experience, care, and impact at Episcopal Day School. We invite you to celebrate their inspiring journeys and learn more about their stories on our new Faculty Milestone page, located under the Faculty/Staff section of our website.

Thank you, Ms. Long, Mrs. McMillan, and Mrs. King, for your extraordinary dedication and for shaping the heart of our community.
