Celebrating Black History Month with Molodi
Celebrating Black History Month with Molodi
Last month, we closed out Black History Month with an unforgettable visit from Molodi Live, a high-energy performance group specializing in body percussion and stepping.
Stepping, an art form rooted in Black college traditions in the U.S., combines rhythm, movement, and teamwork to create powerful, percussive performances. Our students had the chance to not only learn about the history of stepping but also experience it firsthand—forming their own Episcopal Day Step Teams and trying out rhythmic sequences under the guidance of Molodi’s talented performers.
The energy in the room was electric as students clapped, stomped, and moved in unison, celebrating Black creativity and excellence through movement. Huge thanks to Molodi for sharing their passion, history, and artistry with us—it was an experience to remember!
