Faculty vs. 8th Grade Kickball Game

Faculty vs. 8th Grade Kickball Game

Waves of blue and yellow glistened across Mustang Meadow as 8th grade competed against faculty and staff in the nostalgic student vs. faculty kickball game.

Each team huddled to strategize their game play and roared “1, 2, 3, Mustangs!”

Like celebrities on the red carpet, 8th graders took a pre-game lap along the crowd, high-fiving their younger peers who gazed up at them with admiration. Many of them pondered the wondrous thought, “Wow, that is going to be me someday!”

Students excitedly awaited in the dugout as Mr. Wales served the ball to the first student on deck. With an energized kick, the ball soared across the field and the crowd erupted as the game officially commenced.

Blue paint on their beaming faces, 8th grade cheered, jumped, and applauded as they sent the ball flying across the field.

Faculty made quite the splash as well! Mr. Levy performed a kick that sent the ball way into the outfield, scoring a dramatic home run as he slid onto home plate and faculty exclaimed, “Safe!”

After a game full of laughter, cheering, and applause, the faculty scored the win!

Not only was it a wonderful game enjoyed by all, but it was the touching return of a long-lived and well-loved Episcopal Day tradition.
