Growing in Purpose, Responsibility, and Spirit: Reflections from the Class of 2026

What does it mean to grow with purpose, responsibility, and spirit from pre-K through eighth grade?

At Episcopal Day School, these values are woven into the rhythm of each day. Our community gathers for Chapel each morning, creating a space where students reflect, lead, and share their voices. From their earliest years, students are encouraged to step forward, take the microphone, and speak thoughtfully to their peers about what matters to them.

In our newest video, three members of the graduating Class of 2026, joined by School Chaplain Doug Jolly, reflect on their journeys at Episcopal Day School and the ways they have grown during their time here. Interwoven with moments from their Eighth Grade Chapel Talks, these students share how experiences in Chapel - and in the broader life of the school - have helped shape their understanding of purpose, responsibility, and spirit.

Their reflections highlight the power of community, the importance of belonging, and the confidence that comes from being known and supported. As they prepare to take their next steps beyond EDS, they also share what they hope to carry forward from their time here into the rest of their educational journeys.

We’ve also released three individual videos featuring each student, offering a closer look at their Chapel Talks and personal experiences at Episcopal Day School. You can view those on our YouTube channel.
