Honoring the Year of the Snake at EDS
This year, Episcopal Day celebrated Lunar New Year with a series of vibrant and engaging celebrations throughout the entire month, filled with learning, culture, and tradition! Across classrooms, students explored the significance of the holiday, diving into the customs and stories that make this celebration so special. Lower school students were visited by community members who helped students to engage further with the significance of the holiday and engage with the diversity of experiences that define the holiday.
The highlight was on January 29 at our all-school assembly, where the energy was sky-high as students got to watch and participate in a traditional lion dance by SF Chinatown based organization ‘Lion Dance to Me’. It was an exciting, colorful display that brought our entire community together, marking the start of a new year filled with hope and joy.
We’re proud of how our students embraced the Lunar New Year festivities, engaging with both the academic and cultural aspects of the celebration. It was a wonderful reminder of the value of cultural diversity and the importance of celebrating traditions from around the world.
Thank you to all who participated and made this celebration unforgettable! Happy Year of the Snake!
